  1. Planting Period

After inoculation, incubate in the dark. Liquid spawn germinates in 24 hours (mycelium whitens), shows at the bag bottom on day 5, covers the surface on day 8, and moves to the heating room on day 10. Maintain room temp 20-22°C (bag temp ≤24°C), good ventilation, and CO₂ ≤0.3%.

  1. Heating Period

Mycelium grows rapidly with vigorous metabolism. Increase ventilation, control basket density, and ensure rack spacing to avoid local overheating. Maintain room temp 20-22°C, bag temp 23-25°C, humidity 60-70%, and CO₂ ≤0.5%; enhance internal circulation. Mycelium fully grows in 24-28 days, and transfer to the post-ripening room 30 days after heating.

  1. Ripening Period

After full mycelium growth, after-ripening (20-30 days) is needed for medium degradation, with total cultivation period 55-60 days. Maintain room temp 23-25°C, bag temp 25-27°C, humidity 65%-75%, CO₂ 0.3%-0.5%, and protect from light. Well-ripened bags are soft, slightly yellow, and consistent; mycelium grows downward from the top.

Common issues and solutions:

  • Poor mycelium growth/aerial mycelium blockage: Increase cottonseed hulls (for porosity); reduce bran and cornstarch by 1% each (avoid stickiness); bag with tight top and loose bottom (prevent oxygen deprivation); use non-overold liquid spawn (avoid pellet blockage).

  • "Sneak buds" (premature budding due to cold): Block air leaks, reduce fresh air, keep internal fans running, raise temp by 1-2°C, monitor CO₂, and strictly shield from light (light triggers primordium formation).
