The cultivation bags (sticks) produced by the mushroom bag center use plastic bags as cultivation containers and adopt the Chinese characteristic bag cultivation mode. The containers used for factory cultivation of edible fungi include plastic bottles (made of copolymer polypropylene blow molding), polypropylene plastic film bags, and low-pressure polyethylene film bags. After the cultivation material is stirred, it enters the filling process. The traditional manual filling method has almost disappeared, replaced by various filling machines that match the cultivation container.

1. The names of cultivation bags, bags, and sticks

"Bag" and "generation" are homophones, and the original meaning is a method to replace traditional planting materials. There is no unified name at present, only the customary name in various places. For example, in bag cultivation, the bag is used as a container. When it is empty, it is called an empty bag, and after filling, it is called a tube or cultivation bag. According to the ratio of length and diameter, the slender ones are called sticks or tubes (>22 cm), and the short and fat ones are called cultivation bags (called space bags in Taiwan, or bags for short).

2. Specifications of plastic containers for different fungi

In bag cultivation, there are two types of fruiting bodies of different fungi: fixed-point and non-fixed-point. According to different cultivation habits, they can be divided into long stick type and short bag type. Polypropylene plastic is used as the main raw material, which is made by blow molding and sealing. Its melting point is 125℃, it is heat-resistant and corrosion-resistant, and transparent; its disadvantage is that it is easy to age and crack in winter, but it can be overcome by modification and adding antioxidants. Low-pressure polyethylene cultivation bags have low transparency and are not resistant to high temperatures, and are often used for normal pressure sterilization. Since low-pressure polyethylene bags are not prone to wall shedding during cultivation, the occurrence of side mushrooms can be reduced, which is welcomed by cultivators. Fujian Zhangzhou Tianzhen Plastic Products Co., Ltd. has developed low-pressure polyethylene edible fungus cultivation bags that are resistant to high temperatures (123℃) and high pressures (1.12 MPa), which are widely used in enterprises across the country.
