(I) Mixing Machine
Bag-cultivated oyster mushrooms use cottonseed hulls, corn cobs, and sawdust as the culture medium.
In large-scale production, manual mixing is labor-intensive and inefficient. Therefore, it is best to use a
mixing machine, which saves time and labor, is highly efficient, and produces uniform mixing. The moisture
content of the medium is also easily controlled. Two commonly used mixing machines are:
1. **Overflow Mixing Machine:** The overflow mixing machine is small in size and easy to move, making it
a commonly used mixing machine in production. During mixing, the dry materials must first be mixed evenly
before adding the required water. Then, the culture medium is scooped up and poured into the turned-on mixing
machine. The high-speed rotating blades mix the culture medium evenly before discharging. If it is not mixed
evenly the first time, it can be mixed again until it is uniformly mixed.
2. **Trough Mixing Machine:** The trough mixing machine adds the culture medium into the trough, turns on the
motor, and uses rotating blades to agitate and mix the culture medium. Water is then added until it is evenly mixed.
There are many specifications for this type of mixing machine, ranging from 200 to 1000 kg per batch. Users should
choose according to their production volume.
3. Other Mixing Machines
Bagging machines, wheat threshers, and even mortar mixers used in construction can be used for mixing.
